Aug 13 --- Thursday, 6:30 - 8:00 pm, Portage District Library, 300 Library Lane, Portage, MI 49002, (269) 329-4544. BJC will read poetry and other short works with Kalamazoo Poets Elizabeth Kerlikowske, Susan Ramsey, Gail Martin, Lynn Pattison, Anne Hutchinson, Donna Ephland, Elaine Seaman, etc.

August 17-18 -- Douglas, Michigan, Literary Group, not open to public.

August 30 --- Sunday, Bell's Brewery, Kalamazoo Michigan. New Issues fundraiser. BJC will be auctioneer for the auction of fundraising items. Please donate to Kalamazoo's finest publisher of creative book-length works.


September:

September 3 --- Kalamazoo Writers Guild Meeting 5:00 - 9:00 pm (not open to public).

September 15 - Tuesday, BJC visits Gina Betcher's composition class, at WMU, 6:30 pm.

September 17 - Thursday, 11 a.m. reading at Ferris State University; afternoon reading 3:00 at Great Lakes Books & Supply in Big Rapids.

BJC will read with Jack Ridl, September 19, 8 pm in the Gallery room of the Ludington Area Center for the Arts, 107 S. Harrison Street. The event is free and open to the public.

Sept. 24 Interlochen Arts Academy, 4000 State Route 137, Interlochen, MI 49643 (231) 276-7472, www.interlochen.org. BJC will visit a writing class at 4pm, meet with student writers, and read from American Salvage at 6 pm in the Writing Center.

Sept. 25 - 27 Binghamton NY, Writing by Degrees Conference. Held at the Bundy Mansion,129 Main Street, Binghamton, N.Y. BJC will give keynote fiction reading at 7:30 pm on Saturday 26th and craft talk earlier that day. Free and open to the public. See website: writingbydegrees.binghamton.edu

September 28 -- Monday, Vine Ripened Poetry Reading, Kalamazoo Library 7 pm, BJC reads with lots of other poets from Diane Seuss's Poetry Emporium, including Elizabeth Kerlikowske, Susan Ramsey, Nina Feirar, Marion Boyer, Con Hilberry, Lynn Pattison, Amy Newday, etc.

October:

Oct. 3 (Saturday) -- Great Lakes Booksellers Association, Cleveland, Ohio. BJC will sign copies of American Salvage at 2:30 pm.

Oct. 4 (Sunday)-- 7 pm reading at Inquiring Minds Bookstore in Saugarties, NY, reading with Luc Sante and Mimi Lipson.

Oct. 7 (Wednesday), Center for Book Arts Chapbook Award, New York City, accept from Kim Addonizio award for poetry chapbook, "Love Letters to Sons of Bitches." CBA is located: 28 W. 27th St., 3rd Fl. Open to public.

Oct. 9-11 Wisconsin Book Fair, Madison, Wisconsin, BJC will read with Bich Minh Nguyen (author of SHORT GIRLS), Saturday, October 10, 5:00 - 6:30 reading and Q&A. At Overture Center for the Arts, 201 State Street, Madison WI 53703.

Oct. 15-18 Louisiana Book Fair, Baton Rouge (http://www.louisianabookfestival.org/) BJC will read from her story that won the Eudora Welty award from Southern Review. http://www.louisianabookfestival.org/

Oct. 24 -- Visit Rachael Perry's Writing Group at the South Lyon library, South Lyon MI.

November:

November 3-4 --Visit Concordia College (host: Mark Looker, Professor of English, Director, Kreft Arts Program) Tuesday evening reading, and Wednesday morning and afternoon class visits.
